Meridian
The face the whole foundry hangs off. Engineered, even, and warmer than it looks at a glance.
Press
Cut for the page first. The ink traps open as the optical-size axis drops, the way metal type was relieved for small sizes.
Signal
The chrome of this site is set in Signal. Disambiguated zero, tall lowercase, even rhythm under glance.
Marquee
Drawn only for size. The joints thin and the apertures close as the weight climbs, so it stays even at 22 vw.
Field
Calligraphic underneath the discipline. The slant axis interpolates to a true cursive, not a sheared roman.
How to read a specimen
- The throw. As a name scrolls in, its weight, width and slant animate to the extremes of its axes, then settle.
- The placard. The mono caption gives the designer, the year and the axis range, the way a wall label does.
- The cursor. The read-out trailing the cursor prints the live weight range of whatever you are over.
